"If a guy kisses you, all it means is that he would fuck you."
-My Blunt friend "j"
Pretty much, there is a ton of stuff out there about kissing. Way too much stuff just to be clear. Honestly, I stopped reading after article number six, but they did have some very interesting commonalities. One, kissing is inherently gross. Your swapping spit, rubbing places together that can spread disease (lips do that too) and letting someone get waaay into your personal space. So why do it?
One article explained how kissing actually shows a certain level of trust and vulnerability and may be an evolutionary way to begin "feeling" out your partner. Kissing may even have been a way for women to test the health of prospective males. Which, makes sense if you think of the non-existence of medicine and health care our ancestors faced. But, if you take it a step further, kissing can actually show you are down to exchange other bodily fluids (gross). It can also lead to sexual arousal which lessens a general aversion to sharing intimate space and fluids. I mean, think about it. If someone you did not know licked your hand, you would probably do a Tomb Raider move to get to some hand sanitizer, but when in the moment, do you even think about where your partner's parts have been? Probably not.
So, this is my conclusion on kissing, it's just a trick men use to see if women are open to having sex. Just kidding! It's a way for men AND women to feel out if they're partner is up for having sex. So no male bashing on this one, women use it the same way. A kiss is the simplest and most direct way to find out if someone feels you're sexually attractive, but it isn't saying anything more than that. So, in this case, my anonymous male friend (and my psychologist friend I called) are right. Kissing is nothing more than saying "Yeah, I would "do" you if I had a chance". Anything more than that comes after the first kiss, so it's probably better to keep those "first kiss butterflies" under control.
